What Travelistory collects — an email address, a message, a server log — and nothing else.
Travelistory collects almost nothing, so this notice is short and specific rather than long and defensive.
Who is responsible
Shahida Qaiser, 4695 Sassafras Ave, Windsor, ON N9G 3E3, Canada. Contact: hello@travelistory.com, telephone +1 519 999 7318. There is no data protection officer, because the scale of processing described below does not require one.
What is collected, and only what
| Data | When | Why | Basis | Kept |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Email address | You sign up for the weekly fare-drop email | To send you that email | Consent | Until you unsubscribe |
| Name, email, message, and the brand or code you name | You use the contact form | To answer you and, if you reported a code, to fix the listing | Legitimate interest in answering correspondence | Up to 24 months, then deleted |
| IP address and browser string | Every page request | Written to the web server’s log by the hosting provider, for security and abuse handling | Legitimate interest in keeping the site up | Per the host’s retention, typically weeks |
That is the complete list. No account is created for readers, because there are no reader accounts. No analytics, no advertising profile, no location data, no cross-site tracking, no data broker, no sale of anything to anyone. Travelistory never sees your booking, your travel dates, your passport details or your card.
Who else is involved
- The hosting provider, which runs the server and its logs.
- Affiliate networks and travel brands, once you leave this site by a link. They become responsible for whatever they then collect, under their own notices. Nothing identifying you is passed to them by us — what they receive is the fact that the visit started here.
- The mail provider, for messages sent to the address above.
Where data sits
The site is hosted in the European Union. The publisher is in Canada, and readers are mostly in the United States, so some data moves across borders. Where personal data leaves the EEA or the UK it does so under the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses or an adequacy decision.
Your rights
Access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, objection, and withdrawal of consent at any time. Write to hello@travelistory.com and say what you want done. There is no form and no fee. Requests are answered within one month. If you are in the EEA or the UK you may complain to your national supervisory authority; if you are in Canada, to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner. California residents: there is no sale or sharing of personal information to opt out of, because none takes place.
Children
Travelistory is not aimed at children and collects nothing from them knowingly. If a child’s data has reached the address above, tell us and it is deleted.
Security and changes
The site runs over HTTPS. Newsletter addresses and contact messages sit in the site’s own database, reachable only by the publisher’s administrator login. Material changes to this notice change the date below. Related: Cookie policy, Terms of Service.
