About us
What Travelistory publishes, who publishes it, and what it will not print.
Travelistory does one thing: it collects discounts on travel. Hotels and resorts, airlines and flight agents, car desks and airport parking, cruise lines and small-group tours, tickets for the things you do when you land, the case you take and the cover you buy before you go. Nothing else gets a page here, and that is the whole editorial policy.
A travel discount is a strange object. It usually has a booking window and a travel window, and they are not the same thing. It often excludes the four weeks you actually wanted. It is frequently priced in a currency you will not be charged in. So the one thing this site refuses to do is print a travel offer without the date it ends and the conditions attached to it.
Who publishes it
Travelistory is published by Shahida Qaiser, 4695 Sassafras Ave, Windsor, ON N9G 3E3, Canada. It is one person, not a company and not a network of sites, and the imprint says so plainly and quotes no company number because there is none to quote. The site is written for travellers booking in US dollars. The contact page reaches the same person who writes these pages.
What gets published
- An offer with an end date. If a travel brand will not say when a promotion stops, there is nothing to print in the column that matters most on this site. Undated offers are only published where the brand has genuinely marked the offer as standing, and the card says exactly that.
- A US traveller’s offer. Travel feeds are worldwide. This site is not. Anything priced in another currency, written in another language, or restricted to residents of another country is dropped at the door.
- Conditions in plain sight. Minimum nights, blackout dates, booking windows, membership requirements, direct-booking-only rules — whatever the brand told its affiliate network goes beside the offer, not six points smaller underneath it.
- Nothing this site will not carry. Casinos and gambling, adults-only resorts, vaping and tobacco, cannabis, weapons, prescription medicine and high-cost credit have no place here. Several well-known casino-resort brands run travel affiliate programmes; they were taken out of this site’s list by hand.
What you will never find here
No star ratings, because nobody has been surveyed. No “booked 412 times today”, because nothing is counted that way. No badge claiming every code was re-tested at dawn, because nobody re-tests several hundred travel offers before breakfast and it is easier to describe the real routine than to invent a better one. No manufactured countdown. Every figure on this site — brands, offers, codes, discounts — is either counted from what is published or came straight from the travel brand.
How the site is paid for
By commission, when someone books after following a link from here. It comes out of the travel brand’s own marketing budget and changes nothing about the price you are quoted. It also buys nobody a better position: the front page is ordered by the size of the published discount and by what is still live, never by what pays best. The full explanation is on the affiliate disclosure.
Getting it wrong
Travel promotions are withdrawn without notice, sold out, or restricted at the last minute. When that happens here, the quickest fix is someone telling us. Report a dead code and it comes off the page while it is looked at. That is not a courtesy — an offer that does not work is the one thing this site cannot afford to leave standing.
